Strangle hold demo...ps3

huh?? its amazing!

I think the biggest gripe about the graphics is the character models. Whilst they do look reasonably like the actors (John Woo is easy to spot for example), they are still pretty poorly textured and 'wooden'.

Compare with (to be fair):

Gears OF War
Half Life 2 (Ep 1 for best)
Heavenly Sword

Whether or not you like the above games themselves, the character models are very well done.

Having said that, Stranglehold is all about the environments, not the characters. And the environments are very cool.

I'd definitely say the textures are missing something, but it's quite obvious why this is. The frame-rate is difficult to keep up when throwing around high quality textures, throw in fully destructable environments and you're struggling. The only real answer to this was to lower the graphics in some areas.

If you had to sacrifice one area, would it be destructable environments or textures?

For those people who want to say 'we should be able to do both', don't bother replying please.

The 360 and PS3 versions of Stranglehold look identical. 360 demo had a varying famerate but the Ps3 version has Vsync.

It certainly isnt the best looking U3 type game but it plays fun. I might either rent or buy depending on the BLuRay collectors bonus with Hard Boiled remastered. :)

I'm going for the Xbox360 collectors edition, firstly because I don't want to wait for the PS3 version, but also because I get some nice extra's and 3 months of Official Xbox Magazine which gives me something to read on the crapper :D.

I wasnt that impressed to be honest, graphics are pretty bad and Im not too keen on the over used amount of environment interaction, but maybe thats the point.
