So I recently had the 5-way switch installed on my 57 RI Stratocaster, but it appears to have changed the way my strat sounds plugged in.

I used to just do the old trick of wedging the 3-way in between the neck and middle position and it sounded great, but the same position with the 5-way doesn't have the same "quacky/spanky" sound anymore.

Not just that, but none of the positions seem to sound the same as they did with the 3-way. I'm not sure how to explain the change in tone, but suffice to say, I don't really like it as much as my old tones.

Do any of you know any reason that this could be?

I had a top-notch pro do it for me... This is a guy who can wire a les-paul from scratch in 20 mins. But who know's.... is there any particular wiring that can keep everything functional but make the pickups lose some of their specific individual tones and some of their sparkle/twang? :P

It's a longshot really... I guess I'll have to open her up and have a look.
