Evening all,

Getting my usual three year itch to build a new system again. I plan on using a Streacom DA2.

Initially I'll put a new Ryzen 9 3900x and a GTX1070 I've got lying around in and air-cool it to get a feel of the space but plan to swap the card for a RTX2080Ti and hardline them.

Streacom DA2 size limits mean a maximum radiator of 240mm.

Is 240mm enough for a Ryzen 9 3900x AND a RTX2080Ti? Previous wisdom was 120mm radiator per component plus 120mm so ideally I'd need 360mm...

You can compensate to a certain extent with more airflow through the radiator. have a look around at the thermal capacity of the rads when you buy them the 2080ti use 280W and the 3900x use 220W so combined you need to dissipate 500W of heat. it looks like the EK-CoolStream XE 240 might just be able to do it with a 2800 rpm fan. I would suggest that for a smaller system you have to use components that you can cool.
3700x 150W, 2080 super 250W = 400W could use an EK-CoolStream PE 240 with fans at 2800 max

Well, instead of taking the plunge, I've dipped a toe.

Case bought and delivered from OCUK. I'll collect parts over the months to soften the blow of expense and leave the water cooling for last.

It's a beautiful, well made case. Fine grain to the metal, almost like the striker on safety matches.

I'll take the chassis apart tomorrow to get a better idea of internals and what can be done.

If anyone wants any pics or measurements not already available, please let me know.
