Streacom F1C EVO, Scythe Kodati and other 34mm coolers

Yo yo yo.

Just a quick post, has anybody seen a review of the Scythe Kodati SFF cooler? My Google Fu fails me.

I've been toying with the idea of building a Kaveri HTPC+Steambox in the adorable Streacom F1C EVO, but I do plan on keeping the optical drive, so I'm limited to a maximum 34mm height for the cooler. Raveen Vanxie fit the bill but you can't get it any more, Zalman's CNPS2X falls over long before you hit its alleged 120W TDP and now there's the Scythe Kodati.

Alternatively, who's built a system in a Streacom F1C EVO and kept the optical drive? What's your spec? and which cooler did you use?

Also, based on some product shots, it looks like the optical drive "shelf" has a large mesh area underneath it for mounting the 2nd SSD, yet the ODD itself screws on at the sides. Could I chop this tray portion out without affecting integrity of the ODD mount? Looks like it'd give about another 3mm clearance, or at least 3mm more space for airflow.

I always knew anything above a 65W chip would be pushing it in the F1C because it's so damn small, but it's nice to have it confirmed by somebody who's done what I'm thinking.

The Kaveri idea was for the Steambox to have enough grunt to play its own casual and old stuff directly, then stream down from the Titan rig upstairs if I wanted to do anything high-end. I may still be able to do that with a 45W Kaveri A8, I don't know.

But certainly it's looking more likely that I'll just forgo the Steambox element and stick with a pure HTPC - Kabini will be more than fine for that, although I'd still have the heatsink cooler height problem (may have to make up a 60mm mount for the Scythe Kodati).
