I'm wondering if this is possible and if so could anyone give me some links or hw to?

I'm lazy yes.. I'd like to be able to play games on my laptop that the laptop obviously won't run.. also stream games to the front room from the decent PC in the other room..

Pretty much Onlive but your own PC's.. so I think it must be possible?

Anyone?
Cheers
David :)

I'd hazard a guess at not possible without significant effort. For playing games in different rooms, maybe buy wireless controller and long wires for the video?

Thanks for replies.

This has been about for ages. Rubbish last time I tried, might be better now

I found this and the fact you have to pay to get decent quality turned me off, was hoping there would be an alternative.

Thought there would be ways considering you can stream videos and the like, plus remote desktop.. suppose not.

Haven't tried it for games but maybe take a look at Splashtop?

I have it on my Android phone and tablet and use it from time to time to stream from Sky go or other videos on the PC while I am in the kitchen. Doesn't do too badly and they claim it should be ok for games too.

Only thing I could think of is using a VNC client and try that, but doubt it would a) refresh enough and b) might not show applications like games...

if you want to stream to your tv then....hdmi over ethernet? wireless hdmi (video sender)? there's two options for you.

tryed this a while back and found that it will never work as the graphics can't be carried across the network, the OnLive service uses modded hardware, they use what looks like a graphics card with a built in ethernet port so this is why you can't 'easily' run your own 'onlive server'

Don't use this, its terrible.
I got into the beta for Adrenalin but hadn't actually gotten around to trying it out before now, I'm just downloading the latest client and I'll give it a quick go now for you to see if its any good.

VNC is pretty rubbish for this type of thing. I use Splashtop to drive my desktop from my laptop and it works really well. It's possible to play some games over it but it can lag and doesn't work in fullscreen mode at the moment. SpaceChem plays well over it :)
