Stream Music from Computer to Stereo?

It absolutely is possible.

What do you want to pay?

There are quite a range of solutions these days. Sonos are a very good bet. If you want audiophile quality then Cambridge stuff like the Stream Magic 6 (which I could possibly sell you a little used 2nd hand example of). Logitech Squeezebox used to be a fantastic choice, but Logitech have dumped it for some reason.

I have a Airport express plugged into a DAC. The DAC is connected to my hifi amp.

This allows me to stream music from my pc to my hifi by using my iPad as a remote.

i've heard it doesn't do gapless and the devs have no interest in fixing it. stuff using that. :p

Well I have no knowledge in the area of audio play back.

OK so its possible then, thanks everyone.

Bazzabear, what program so you use to stream to the external device?

I use a Logitech Bluetooth adaptor.

Stream music from mobile phone...ipad ,tablet all you need is a bluetooth dongle for your PC

Plug the logitech into the stereo phono sockets on your amp.

done

works amazing with spotify pro and streaming FLAC from my ipad.

With the squeezebox, there's Logitech's own software on the PC.

With the Cambridge Audio, it's all done at the streamer end - no software required on the PC just access. You can get a free app on mobile devices to control it too.

Not sure on the Sonos approach, but I suspect it's the same as Cambridge.
