Hey,

Is the 8600G a worthy enough CPU to run OBS with? I'm worried about the encoders not being good with AMD iGPU. Dedicated GPU for now is out of budget and I've specced out this for around £550

AMD Ryzen 5 8600G 4.3 GHz 6-Core Processor
Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler
Gigabyte B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
Crucial Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL46 Memory
Kingston NV3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Montech AIR 100 LITE MicroATX Mid Tower Case
MSI MAG A650BN 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

Thanks for any input

You could buy an Arc A310 for under £100.
Yep, get that and drop to a 5500 or 5600 CPU and combined they're cheaper than a 8600G.

...or are those the CPUs with the gimped cache? - If so then the intel card plus a 5600X is only ~£15 more.

Arc supports h264/265/AV1/VP9 so should cover you well for any streaming platform

Their budgets been upped considerably now.

I would get a 245K(6P+8E cores) over a 7600X (6 cores).
If CPU encoding then I'd agree (always used/preferred CPU personally), but if using GPU for encoding then the cost saving would be enough to offset it IMO. (as well as greater upgrade potential/longevity)
If using GPU, then I'd probably still go Intel over nVidia (although probably A380 even if only for the bigger fan at £20 more)! @Liquid_Entity
