Problem i have had forever since i moved house a year ago and got Sky.
When i stream any content, such as YouTube videos, BBC news clips etc, the content loads to about the halfway mark, then stops, meaning that the playback stops halfway. I then have to refresh the page and click on the bit where it stopped to resume, and it ususally loads fully then.
Very annoying as it happens 95& of the time when streaming.
Is this a common problem and is there a simple answer?
I have no anti virus stuff in the background.

you need to post your line stats etc are you on sky adsl or Sky LLU if sky adsl then that could be the problem as it is well known for being so poor.

Up to 20Mb broadband availability is subject to your location. Sky Broadband Connect (up to 8Mb) at £17 pm is available to customers outside our network area (£30 set-up cost for existing Sky TV customers). Speeds vary with location and line quality. Sky Talk or BT line rental payable. Set-up costs may apply for existing Sky TV customers.

Sky/Easynet have equipment in some exchanges and if you are hooked up to that you get a very good broadband experience of up to 20mbit and truly unlimited downloads.

If you don't have Sky/Easynet equipment in your exchange you are on Sky Connect which is only up to 8Mbit and is one of the worst broadbands money can buy. Sky buy the line from BT and they actively traffic manage so you can forget heavy downloads, torrents, youtube or general borwsing in most cases. Truly awful.
