Hi,

I have a folder on my iMac that contains all my music which I would like to be able to stream to my windows based laptop.

I've set file sharing options on the folder in question and both computers are in the same workgroup, but for some reason I can never pick up the iMac on my laptop.

Has anyone got any ideas how I could solve this problem?

Cheers.

System Preferences > Sharing

Click on the tickbox for File Sharing...

On the right hand side you'll see a list of users, and their access rights.

You need to add the user (this case the name of the laptop user) to the list, and give them appropriate access. From here, you can tell the iMac the Workgroup name (if you arent using a default name) and it should be all good.

(There's 2 links.. the latter is better, but the former has a quick tip if you're having issues with username / password rejection - a common problem!)
