Hi... Not looking to do anything dodgy, it's just when my old man visits us, he complains if he can't watch his sky and BT sports. These apps don't work on Android boxes as they disable playback to HDMI. Also they can't be cast via Chromecast. Only workaround that seems to work for sky sports is to use an android android on pc then cast the desktop. Unfortunately it does work with virgin go. Anyone got any ideas if a workaround that may let me cast virgin go or use it on a android box?

If you use a laptop you can put the picture into the tv via HDMI?

Is he used to using a Windows PC? You could try one of those Windows HDMI Stick PCs and a wireless air mouse. I use the skygo app on a HTPC for a room which doesn't have access to the sky dish and the only fault I've had is maximising the app when it starts.

The virtual machine via virtualbox works a treat... Easy to setup and fast enough if installed on an SSD to be up and casting within a minute or 2... It is a bit of resource hog but I can run it adequately and am still on 4 cores/4 threads with 16gb so if you are on a Ryzen with 32gb you'll be laughing... I can't help but feel there should be an easier workaround than this but am happy with the result.
