HI Guys

Not to sure where to put this post so if its in the incorrect place sorry !!

Now my router is a Netgear 834N, I have 2 Pc's and the Synology connected to it using network cables. I am looking for the best way of watching media files stored on the Synology in my kitchen which is on the ground floor of my house. I would prefer to use a Network cable as I dont really trust wireless.

Have seen a couple of Netgear products, FreeCom, Icy Box products though am not sure what route to take.

Please dont tell me to buy an X Box 360 as I have a Wii and dont want another console.

I'm not upto date with the latest hardware, I'm afraid. if you're using wireless any of the the streaming boxes will be ok. software wise I use twonkyvision to stream wirelessly to a netgear mp101 for audio, connected to my stereo and a buffalo linkstation under my tele. the router is upstairs and is fine

i stream from my ds106 to a buffalo linktheatre that connects by scart to my tv
i need to use twonkyvision on the synology as it didn't work well natively with the linktheatre.

the linktheatre does wired and wireless, and plays virtually everything i throw at it - divx/xvid wise. i don't think it does hd though - netgear eva8000 does, but is double the price
