Streaming Services with Live TV

Does one exist?

We had a what is now redundant NowTV box which you could use to watch live TV. Bought a Firestick to replace it, only to realise that you can't without faffing about on each app.

Now having had a look around it seems that there is no easy option to have a box loaded with apps which can also show live TV, or am I missing something? I still have a NowTV Movies & Entertainment package, Prime Video, plus a shared Disney Plus login which I want to use as well.

Not yet. A thing called “Freely” is out next year.

Sky Stream would be a paid alternative.

iPlayer App, 4OD, ITVX and whatever the C5 app is.

It’s not all in one app/interface though.

You could look at IPTV, but I’m not sure if we’re allowed to talk about that.

The now tv app has live (sky) tv channels.

Can't recall a now tv streaming device that did anything different to that.

I have Now TV on Roku able to play live TV. I have most of the services on there; BBC, ITV, etc. It obviously isn't a consistent UI across all of them. But I don't bother with normal TV now. In fact I don't bother with anything live now. But it's there if I did want it.

A few years back TV Player App was good. It was essentially a Freeview/Freesat plus a few other channels over streaming. But they lost a lot of channels. It might stop be worth taking a look.

Paid options are the Sky Stream, or also if you BT the BT TV has a non-aerial IPTV version which has full recording capability etc.

There's a new EE TV service coming soon that'll give just that...

EE is launching a customised Apple TV 4K box, offering live TV through EE TV

In a major play for the UK TV market, EE has an enticing hardware proposition.

Assuming you haven’t got an aerial at the moment? If you’ve got a Sky dish already you could look at Freesat too if your TV has it (or buy a box).

No functioning aerial and no dish allowed where I live unfortunately (aonb).
