Hi All
Bought my first Mac on saturday (imac) and i need to know if it is possible to stream stuff (mostly movies) to a PS3 or Xbox. With the previous PC i did it through windows media player ie just dropped the movies into a folder and viewed them from there on the ps3 or xbox.
If this is not possible i guess i can just use a harddisk and copy them to that and plug it into xbox or ps3 but would be handy to be able to stream

I use Nullriver, the have a version for 360 called "connect360" or a version for the ps3 "medialink". both work well and can also transcode on the fly, not free though. The torrent client vuze can stream to both from a mac if you are looking for a free option.

yeah that Rivet does look good but looks like it has been discontinued, not sure if that is good or bad.
Anyone used Apple TV? that kind of sounds like its the solution but 80% of what it can do I already can do on the Xbox and Playstation.
What i really want is somewhere i can dump all my various formats of movies (like in windows, some folder somewhere) which can then be picked up by the xbox or playstation and played through that but i do not think that there is a one size fits all solution.
The only ones that i can think of at the moment are
1> Apple TV
2> External Hard disks
3> Multiple software alternatives per flavour ie one for xbox one for PS3
