Can anybody answer this related topic. I use ps3mediaserver and it's a great piece of software however how can I add subtitles to the video files. Can I hard sub them? Anyone know?
PS3 mediaserver doesn't stream MKV files, it can only transcode them. That's why it stutters.
Only way to properly stream IIRC is to share the folder on a Windows 7 machine and install DivX Codec, only ever tried it with 360s though, works perfect![]()

Completely wrong. You are confused with Tversity. PS3 MediaServer streams MKVs, wireless just can't provide the bandwidth.
When I last used it, the CPU was actually be utilised quite a lot, hench it was transcoding, not really ideal for a netbook. Good to know they've fixed it though.
DivX+Windows 7 works perfect for me streaming over wireless, even a 18gb 1080p Blade Runner mkvNo CPU usage, no fan noise, no issues.
