Not sure if this is the right section for it so apologies if this question should go somewhere else...

I cant seem to find software that can stream youtube / watchseries etc directly from my laptop to my tv?

"PlayTo" works fine through Media Player or VLC, but that's for files physically stored on the system. I'm looking for the exact same functionality for streaming videos online. Tried Twonky but for some reason it doesn't allow you to pick specific videos (only categories of youtube like Most Watched or whatever).

I just don't understand why something this simple shouldn't have a very simple solution. Click on a video to stream it, little icon on the bottom somewhere that then lets you beam it to a connected device on your network such as a TV....surely I'm missing something and there's a very simple piece of software to do it?

as crazy as it sounds, this doesn't exist.

There is no software currently that takes say an internet explorer window in which you are running Youtube or another streaming video service and beams it to another device.

I think the only thing which comes close is maybe Intel WiDi and im not sure that even works as I haven't tried it myself yet.

Maybe wireless HDMI?
