Streaming Video Problems

I have recently been trying to stream some videos from the NBA website (and numerous other places come to think of it) only to be greeted with everyones favourite:

'Click here to download suitable plugin'

I click, it tries to find a suitable plugin and says none were found. It suggests a manual install of the right plugin but I haven't a clue what it's after - any help/ideas?

I have just found and tried following this guide but I am still having problems

Everytime I load some pages with embedded media it says either the ActiveX plugin or the WMP plugin has caused a serious error - then nothing works :/

Half tempted to just give up tbh

its probably the windows media plugin you need! I take it this is for Firefox? if yes then copy the file named npdrmv2.dll from the c:\program files\windows media player folder to the firefox plugins folder (where ever you installed firefox) and restart and all should be fixed.

Just get errors

ive had this and it was quicktime... quicktime alternative sorted it for me

try reinstalling WMP and see if that makes any difference.
