Streaming

hi i was wondering whether its possible to stream music and videos etc from a computer running ftp/http services? or if its none of those how would i go about doing on-the-fly streaming?
its going to be purely used for the internal network

simply right click on the folder you want to share

properties > sharing tab > tick share this folder on network

click apply

go to networked computer look in my network places you should see a folder in there which youve just shared...just load the files like you normally would

the reason i dont do that way is because its slow as for browsing the files and finding the networked computer.

i tired doing that and then mounting the folder as a drive in my comp sped browsing up.

forgot about mapping a drive

so there aint a piece of software that can do streaming of files over a network then?
just like you would watch videos on google or youtube.
