Street Fighter 4 save game problem.

Does anyone know how to get the Street fighter 4 save game to be recognised by GFWL? Recently reformatted and now I am trying to get my old save game to be recognised by SF4, but it keeps coming up with a "save game not recognised" message.

Help!

Did you create a new save first before moving your old one?

No I moved my old one first... which is why it says "did not find save game".
Now if I move it back it says cannot recognise save game or words to that effect.

move your old pre-format save to somewhere safe eg desktop
delete everything under
C:\Documents and Settings\Cav\My Documents\CAPCOM\STREETFIGHTERIV
Start the game, create a save.
Open C:\Documents and Settings\Cav\My Documents\CAPCOM\STREETFIGHTERIV\exxxxxxx
move your old save file save.dat into there.

See if that works

It says failed to access saved data. Saved data may be corrupt.

Infact does my championship stuff get saved to the GFWL or the save game?

How have you guys saved your save games and upgraded to Windows 7!

My guess ? It has save file "protection", which Lost Planet Colonies had too. Basically, if you transfer it to a new PC (or, the same PC but formatted), it wont let you use it, even if you login with the same Gamertag (some games do let you, GTA 4 for example has always let me keep my save between PC's), but some dont. They really should remove that crap, im sure people would rather have there progress kept rather than a "secure" Live network (secure meaning people cant hack for achievements, yeah great).

Its not possible to transfer saves as Capcom protected them. PS3 version is the same its to prevent cheaters hacking their stats you have to start again! Several games have this protection its annoying but nothing you can do about it.

It is possible to 'transfer' saves. As long as you use the same GFWL ID. I've formatted my PC several times since PC SF4 release and it has been fine.
I think what may have happened with Cav is that the initial error ended up corrupting his original save somehow. That's just a guess, since i had something similar happen with a GTA:SA save file.
You'll keep your championship online stuff, like GP if that's what you mean.
