Can someone tell me if you play either SF4, SF4, SFxT online are the games limited to 30fps?

Also is there any need to get SF4 if you get SF4AE or is SF4AE backward compatible?

All games should run at 60fps mandatory. Any slower and it will cause problems not only for yourself, but especially for the other player if you play online i.e. your slow arse framerate will cause hindering sync issues and stutter lag if it was such a case.

It really comes down to your system specs, so if they are low, you are going to have trouble and will need tweaking.

Original Street Fighter IV is old now. Still a classic though. Arcade Edition is the latest version and no it is not backwards compatible.

SSFIVAE is backwards compatible with SSFIV.

The games underlying engine runs at 60fps, independent of framerate in the correct mode (fixed).

Unfortunately if your opponents frame rate is below 60fps and the muppet is using variable mode then your game will lag too.

Unfortunately the PC version of SSFIVAE doesn't allow you to switch between SSFIV and AE modes unlike the console versions.

It will switch to SSFIV mode only in the Trials though.

Yeah.

On the bright side, since around last week or before, it's now finally on the 1.07 version just like the consoles.

About damn time too!

As for Street Fighter X Tekken, PC version is still months behind on the patch version. They said around September time it should be getting the DLC characters and balance patches.
