Does anyone know what the restrictions are for single yellow line parking in Bath on Saturdays, specifically George Street?

Reason I ask, I had a ticket for parking there a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't see any signs saying there were restrictions outside the usual times for single yellow line parking, which I thought was by default 8am to 6pm unless stated otherwise. Is it part of some sneaky controlled parking zone?

As it was, the ticket was the same price as a taxi home and as I had to go into Bath anyway the following day, it's not a massive deal, but would rather not have paid unless I had to.

You'll need to go and look at the parking restrictions sign in George Street.

There were no signs on the wall at all, which is why I thought it may be okay to park. Had a good look as well, both at head height and up the wall and couldn't see anything.

There was nothing there when I went there, both myself and my brother both looked quite hard for a sign. I don't know when the Google pic was taken, so perhaps they removed signs and forgot to put them back?

I'm from Bath, & Parking in Bath is terrible at the best of times.

That photo was last year some time around August /September, as was sign, when they were doing work in Milsom Street area.

Usually there cars parked there during the day, can't recall seeing a sign there, & I parked occasionally, will be in George Street tomorrow morning so I will have a good look then.

I seem to recall seeing cars there frequently during the days at the weekend, though never during the week, as it is a bit of a pinch point.

Having said that, my car was noticeably lonely when I came to pick it up in the morning!

Have to go tomorrow, will get in for 08.30 as the Podium is pretty quiet then, straight to Apple to get my phone sorted then back out. At least it's not a Rugby weekend.

Appeal - www.pepipoo.com a lot of the parking signs (especially the temporary restrictions) are none compliant. Post up a scan of the ticket (all sides of everything) and you'll get decent advice.

I had a look this morning for you. Walked along George Street from the top of Milsom street, and then around and down Gay Street heading towards Queen Square. As you will know, along that route it keeps changing from Double Yellow Lines to Single Yellow Lines and back to Double Yellow Lines.
At no point along it are there any signs that say when the Single Yellow Lines are in effect.

I would assume that it's Mon-Sat 8AM-6PM, but there are no signs at all.

Thinking outloud, I know that recently the council ******** are changing all the Pay & Display car parks to require tickets upto 8PM instead of 6PM.

So, definitely contest it!

If I remember I'll ask Nunzio next time I see him what time he reckons it is, as I guess he'll know as he quite often parks his Maserati outside the restaurant so would be getting tickets all the time.
