Looking at a triumph street triple 2010 model.
looks in very good shape has arrow slip on cans.
problem is its done 19k miles. would you say this would still be ok.
thank you in response.

depends if it has a service history if it has never been serviced i wouldn't touch it if it has got a full service history then the millage shouldn't be a problem

As long as the service history is in check it shouldn't be a problem. If it doesn't have full history (i.e. stamped book) check for receipts and dates. Be clever as well, if he has a receipt for an oil filter that was say purchased a couple of months a go, have a look at the filter and see what state it is in as well to see if it all adds up. Could also check the oil to see what state that is in.

I'm not sure what the service intervals are on street triples, but make sure the owner isn't trying to shift it before a major service (valve clearance etc).

I wouldn't let that mileage put me off, just means it has been used and not sat in a garage.

19k is nothing tbh

This, 19k is absolutely nothing at all and simply proves the bike has actually been used regularly rather than sitting unused for most of it's life. Obviously you want to see evidence that it's been properly cared for but the mileage itself certainly wouldn't put me off.

My previous bike, an ER6f, had 40k on it when I bought it. It had a full service history and never missed a beat in the 18 months I had it.

From what the guy is saying.

Hi,

There is part service history the rest has been done by himself.

Thanks.. might take a mate to have a look at it. he knows more than me.

Is it much cheaper than lower mileage bikes? If so then go for it otherwise personally I'd always go for a lower mileage bike simply for resale reasons. Like it or not the majority of people prefer low mileage.

Thanks everyone managed to get it for £3.650 2010 model, comes with
*Genuine pazzo levers
*Geniune triumph supplied and fitted twin arrow exhaust (remapped and fitted by Phillip youles)

Nice bike with the proper headlights and not those bug eye things the Triple has now.

I'd have paid that for that bike quite happily.

That sounds like a really good price.

I wouldn't be afraid of that mileage if you intend to keep the bike a fair while. As has been said, it's only at re-sale time that you might have an issue.

If you put that on such a lovely bike you should be hung upside down by your testicles, dipped in honey and have ants crawl all over you :p

Engine mileage on a bike is generally a red herring - most modern engines will do 100K + easily.

Whats generally knackered by 20k miles is the suspension, so ask if it's been replaced/refurbished recently or budget it in to have done.

Nice colour

Only thing that needs changing on that is the mirrors

Ps. The main reason for my headlamp covers is that each headlamp costs £70+ to replace when a stone goes through it. I know from personal experience
