Building a new rig with a custom water loop cooling both CPU and GPU. What's the best way to stress both at the same time so I can see what the temps are like when both are fully loaded?

run Prime 95 and Furmark at the same time. However that is a totally pointless test apart from "how hot can i get my water" I would say run 3D mark or any benching program and that will give you a good idea. However these are all synthetic testing and do not quite replicate gaming.

Personally i just run 3D mark a few times over for my custom loop and that give me a good idea however nothing beats just playing games and see what actually happens.

Prime95 assuming you aren't overvolting a lot (in which case temps will be an issue) and Unigine Heaven. Furmark is no good since most modern GPU's have inbuilt throttling for such loads.

Dont run furmark and prime at the same time, the former is a card killer. And depending on the cpu, some versions of p95 will lead to very high temps which may throttle the chip down. 3dmark fire strike and 3d mark 11 are good all round testers as they load up both the cpu and card at the same time in certain tests. If it's a gaming setup, testing with a few modern demanding games is as good a way as any.
