Stress test for a Q6600

Perhapse there is a reason why its not popular and a reason why Prime95 works best as a stress tester.

But no reason why you cant try the both and see which is best for you and not the masses.

Regards.

I use OCCT. Easier to configure than Prime and it looks better.

I havent looked at your link but easier than prime ?
unzip, execute and click on a few windows that pop up and your away. Prime is hardly tricky to operate !

I was under the impression you had to set core affinities and tweak various settings because Prime isn't a native stress-test app? I used to use Orthos but I could never get it to stress the four cores properly.

orthos was built in the dual core era, the latest version of prime95 stresses all 4 cores as default, the only setting that needs changing is 'round off checking'

Although you will have to select which test you wish to run: large/small fft's/blend

Small fft's for CPU stress test.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info, I didn't realise it had been updated :)
