Hey guys,

I’m on the verge of overclocking my burnt in E2160, but in anticipation of any possible instabilities I want to get the latest stress testers downloaded and at the ready :)

I’ve been out of the game for a while, but I think the tools I used last time were Prime95 and OCCT?

What should I be looking at now?

Cheers,

SW.

While here, where can i get memest from? The offical site doesnt seem to work

This is the site for that, and it's working for me so if it doesn't work for you it might be your connection. If you can't, just say which you want and I'll upload to my webspace for you so you can download from there. It comes in:

Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.gz)
Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)

Pre-Compiled Bootable Binary (.gz)
Pre-Compiled Bootable Binary (.zip)

Pre-Compiled EXE file for USB Key (Pure DOS)

Pre-Compiled package for Floppy (DOS - Win)

Hugs his DFI board with memtest built into the bios - now THAT'S a true enthusiast board. Prime and memtest86 should see you right (I like short FFTs as it isolates the cpu) then get ATi tool for your gfx card - boom - stability tested! :D

100% disagree windows based memtests ***

Have you tried it? It works quite well actually, so far from my experience it's always detected even slightly unstable ram.

I just prefer memtest because I don't have to boot into windows, I just boot off my usb drive.
