I'm going to overclock my 8800 Ultra with rivatuner. Due to what I've read, I'm going to use ATI Tool to check for artifacts. But my question is: how long should I stress test with ATI Tool for?

ATITool is not always realistic with clocks. I have had several cards that showed no errors on ATITool but gave glitches when I played certain games or benches.

You are best using a combo of tools. The 3DMark seriues (01, 03, 05 and 06) is a very good place to start. In the end, whatever max stable clocks you get on the core/mem, drop them by 2-3% for safety margin.

3Dmark is no where near as good as 10 mins on World in Conflict for stress testing an overclock.
I had perfect runs of 3dmark & no ATI tool errors but got obvious errors in WIC so had to lower the overclock slightly...

Sounds crazy but download the Nvidia Smoke Demo and minimize it, i've got no idea why but this gets my 8800 gtx really hot, if it can cope with that + 3dmark on loop for 5 hours youre good to go.

I find ATI can be wrong the other way. With my core above 621 ATI tools shows glitches and at 650 it just hangs as soon as you set it yet if I set 650 in rivatuner I can loop 3dmark06 for hours and play games with no problems.
