Stress testing single core?

Want to check what an 8700 max boosts to on a single core.

Any utils that do this and not the whole package?

cinebench? Not really stress test but has single core benchmark so you can see the boost.

Think you mean performance test? As said above, cinebench single core will be a short performance test that will show the boost level of the single core if you monitor the CPU usage with another app.
I personally wouldn't recommend a stress test of one core. You're really talking about pushing it to it's limits and possibly over, for an extended period of time and with a synthetic load. Stress testing a single core is an unrealistic "real world" scenario IMO. You'd probably be better off finding a game that uses only one core/thread and play that for a few hours if you want to check the stability.

Can also just use HWiNFO to monitor it and play some games, do stuff. Will show min/max boost on each core.

Superpi is single core if I remember rightly.

[Probably] You'd need an OS that only recognised one core and all CPU activity was solely on that core.
[Possibly] Deactivate all cores bar one in the bios.
