Hi all,

Can anyone recommend something to get rid of/reduce stretch mark scarring?
I've tried the likes of cocoa butter and it hasn't been massively effective.

On a certain auction site they advertise things like Epidermx II and TCA Chemical Peel but I'm not sure how effective they are (and the latter sounds quite scary).

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Si

Sorry pal but they'll never go. I've always been a skinny git but for a period of 6 months around 5 years ago I stopped doing sport and became a bit chubby and developed stretch marks around the waist area.

Quickly became a skinny git again not long after and they faded, but they've never truly disapeared. They only barely show up in certain light conditions though.

My advice is to lose a bit of weight and be very patient, just forget about them :)

Tops of my legs have stretch marks from my early days squatting heavy and although visibly they can't really be noticed, they can be felt. It's an unfortunate side effect of rapid expansion, something mums know all too well and I don't know any mum that has found a magic cure for them either.

Be a man and wear them with pride. I've got them on the tops of my thighs despite never having had big shifts in body mass.

People are too busy looking at the rest of my body (or is it laughing? Never been sure) to notice those bits. ;)

On a more serious note, I think there are medical procedures to reduce them but it's pretty close to plastic surgery from what I recall. Beyond that, the only thing to do is pre-treat areas prone to skin stretching. My missus is expecting and slaps on huge amounts of cocoa butter and oil, etc. each morning and night.

There has been loads of threads on this subject. As said bio oil can help reduce really purple stretch marks and almost fade out silver stretch marks, from personal experience you notice a difference after about two weeks of religiously massaging the oil in morning and night. I stopped eventually due to the inconvenience or should i say pain in the arse of being oiled up 24/7.

Cocoa Butter does work, just takes a lot of application.

When they lose their redness (which happens regardless of what you do) they're easily forgotten about.

You can use the same stuff that pregnant women use on there bump to supple the skin more, i forget what its called but you can get it in most chemists
