Stretched CRT TV image – This cant be good!

Right here goes!

The image is been stretched from the centre to each of the 4 corners, the distortion growing more drastic as it does so.

Switching between the different viewing angles the sides become black while the image is pulled to the corners.

Am I right in thinking this is a rather serious problem? To hazard a guess I think it’s probably the electro magnet that’s going *boobies* up or am I completely wrong?

 
It's usually the tube that dies...the vacuum slowly goes and distorts the image beyond that which the OSD options can compensate for. CRT problems are generally fatal.
