Morning,

I have an absolute max of £300 to spend on a new GPU, Im looking to upgrade for Starfield from my current GTX 980.

I have the ability to get either of the following:
  • Nvidia 3070 Founders Edition8GB GDDR6 for £281
  • MSI AMD RX 6700XT Mech 2X OC 12GB for £275
  • Gigabyte 3070 Gaming OC 8GB GDDR6 for £289
  • POwerColour AMD RX 6700XT Fighter 12GB for £269
I'm confused as to which would get the best bang for my buck and longevity, I know they're not cutting edge but would like them to last for a few years at least. Im teaming them up with the below specs:

MSI MAG B365m Mortar Micro ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i5 8400 @ 2.80GHz
be quiet! BN302 System Power 9 600W CM PSU
32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4
2x Samsung SSD 870 EVO 500GB
NZXT H510 Case (whichever will fit into this!)
LG HDR WQHD 34" Ultra-Wide (3440x1440@60Hz)

New or used prices ?

Ray tracing important to you then the 3070..
These are used prices, i wont say from where in case its not allowed on the forums. Never even considered the Ray Tracing option, does it really make that much of a difference?

So looks like the consensus is to go for the 6700xt then, even though according to the GPU heirarchy in the GPU section of the forum that model falls beneath the 3070?

To be honest, a lot of the reason I was going for the 3070 FE was because of the look of it, i think its really cool.

Thanks for all the replies guys, looks like the 6700xt is the way then, looks like I might as well get the Sapphire model from here then if it comes with Starfield and pay the extra £30, at least i'll get a warranty that way.

Last question, will I be OK using my current PSU as its 600W?
