I really enjoyed that, good solid first episode. The only couple of issues I have is that I have a mental picture of how his office should look but it's totally different and he doesn't have an accent.

I 'read' all the Strike books through Audible and the voice Robert Glenister uses for Strike reminds me of a good friend of mine who's a lot older so I have to get used to him looking the age he is.

Despite the time constraints of getting the book into three hours worth of telly, it was good.

Anyone else catch it this evening?

Ive watched the first episode and I'm VERY undecided.

Like you, i have read all of the books (and listened to the audio books) and LOVED them. Brilliant characters, story etc. I've been trying to find something in the same vein without luck.

I wanted to like this more than I did, but its possible it could improve over the next episode.

Things I didn't like:

- Cormoran - His casting is good in terms of acting ability and he plays the character well, Hes too young for me. He needed to be more "gruff and rugged" and slow. Also where is the good Cornish accent?

- Robin - Too up herself, not shy enough to start with.

- Too fast paced for story development - but that is the curse of fitting in a good book into a short TV drama. Lots of important characters thrown in so early on.

Things I liked:

- Style - Its filmed well visually, Although could be a little grittier for my tastes.

- Story - but that's the original books work.

If you enjoy this Feek - check out Mr Mercedes (with Bill Hodges). That's scratching an itch for me at the moment.

Isn't Strike only supposed to be 35 in the first book? I think in terms of age he looks about right. Obviously his hair isn't right and he's not tall enough, but producers have already explained that there are a lack of white male British actors who are over 6ft and have curly hair. I think Tom Burke is good in the role.

I don't think the woman cast to play Charlotte was pretty enough. She's described as having long hair and hazel eyes in the books and as being so beautiful that she could stop conversation when she enters a room. Also, I imagined Guy Some as being thinner and more camp. And yeah got to agree about Robin, I think she's too confident and outgoing. I imagined her as being a bit more timid in the first book.

Despite those negatives I am enjoying it. Every other character was as I imagined them, particularly John Bristow.

Yes I know, the age probably about right i think its more the hair, and he is not as intimidating as i hoped.

Like I said, he just needs to be a bit more gruff.
