Hi,
my setup;
striker extreme, 4gb ocz pc2 8500 dual chnnel, q6600, 2x8800gt (evga), ocz 600w psu.

my problem is this when i boot up the system will begin loading the op system then blue screen crash at the green loading bar after around 10seconds, the restart.

Iam running vista 64.

I have removed 1 gfx card and all memory sticks apart for a single 1gb stick.
I have upped the memory voltage to 2.1v as required.
The pc still does the same.

any ideas?...

Just to note:....I had the same problem on an evga 680 board which actually turned out to be faulty.
I previously had a j+w ip35 pro with which the memory worked perfectly.

please help me!!!!

Have you had the OS running before?

Did you install the sata drivers from the supplied disc when installing vista? (i know it can see and write to the drives but for some reason it still needs the drivers)

I had a similar issue when trying to get my striker extreme to run, then after a few attempts it failed to boot at all (i never got a chance to put the drivers on the second time after forgettin the first time). Board has since been RMA'd for a refund, really soured my asus experience.

Did you do a clean install of Vista when changing to the Striker, or did you move your OS drive from your previous system and connect it to this one without attempting a fresh install?

Also, if you are doing/did do a clean install, you don't have to pre-install any Sata/Raid drivers from a floppy disk or CDROM, Vista already has enough storage drivers to get you through the install process.

Attempting to pre-install SATA drivers always resulted in a BSOD (blue screen) for me.

Once you've got Vista running, then install the chipset drivers from your DVD.

Additionally, since you're running Vista x64, you'll have to install with just 2gb RAM in your system, then install the patch below:

Then put your other 2gb back in!

Ok, problem solved.
I am going to tell you exactly what I have done to get the beast running, the reason for is that by googling I found this problem running riot within the internet community.
When the loading crashes at crcdisk ( well actually it dosnt but it is the way the problem is described). Then goes blue screen and reboots into an endless loop.
This happens espically if you upgrade your board and expect the op system to load without hitch installing the the appropriate bare bone drivers to do the job.
Well most of the time it wont and you are left with this problem.
The workround is if possible disable all sata devices and remove all their drivers in the op system and anything else for example usb controllers.
you make the system if it would be on a first install or rather like booting in safe mode.
Then install your board and boot up. hopefully it will be ok.
Also you will get the option to keep the exsisting op system in a .bak file, which is accessible from within the new op system, so no need to worry about lost files etc. obviously the programs will not run.
hope this may help anyone with a similar problem.
in conclusion it was my Sata drivers that caused the conflict.

rock on !
