Stripping down an EVGA SLI HB bridge. Will it work?

Because of the constraints of my case I have had to install an parallel interconnect for my SLI GPUs. The problem is the port on the interconnect that I want to use as an output is right in the path of the HB SLI bridge as below

I have taken the outer casing over the bridge off and unplugged the LED obviously. That just leaves a very flat board which doesn't interfere with compression fitting or obviously the tube once it's connected.

It looks ugly as hell, but I'm pretty sure it will work fine. Does anybody have any experience of doing this successfully? Once I've put it all together I'll have to drain the system if I want to remove the SLI bridge again.

You're right Kaap. I put it on the wrong way round! Everything is switched around in this damn case and it's confusing as hell! Should have looked at the diagrams more closely instead of making sure the embossed writing was the right way up. Now my inputs and outputs have to be switched around on the water block, but if I'm reading the manual cor ectly that doesn't matter. Am I right?

I have got to fit one next week so I have a manual handy.:)

For a Parallel bridge you use the inlet nearest the EVGA SLI bridge at the top. I am using the other inlet as it is a Semi Parallel bridge

The outlet is the same as in the pic I posted.
