Stripping down old pc's

Just taking apart some old pc's

And wondering it there was some way to tell what the ide cables are rated? UDMA 33/66 etc

Also is it worth taking out the mother battries? Can they been used in other motherboards?

If they're 40 pin upto DMA 33. 80 pin DMA 100/133. 2131/2132? Button cells are only £1 each so why bother?

The wires on the 80 pin DMA 100/133 are thinner/finer as there is double the number.
DMA 33 are thicker, so if you have one of each it is easy to tell.
