So installed my new 7950x3d into my brand new Rog strix x670e f gaming mobo with 64 GB 2x32 yesterday. Everything seems to be working but it won't display from the 3090. Baldurs gate seemed to use it plugged in through the mobo and the card shows up in Windows, gpuz etc.

I've updated bios to latest, cleared CMOS, reseated team, GPU etc but can't work out why I get no image through the HDMI on the card. I've been doing this for over 20 years and generally if I can't work something out it means it's broken but the GPU does seem to be working, it's a weird one. Turning off igpu in bios doesn't seem to do anything

The only things I can find online is other people having similar issues but with either a 4090 or 10 series cards which is solved by a gpu bios flash, afaik I have the latest bios on the 3090. Any ideas? Card was working fine on the old setup

Only have my c2 oled so no dp. It's all pretty current though. I have tried 2 different hdmi cables but it was all working before I replaced the mobo,CPU and ram

Am I right in thinking that is a TV?

Just to rule out the obvious, have you switched to the correct HDMI input on the TV?
Haha, yes. I've also tried booting with a connection in the GPU and motherboard. I'm going to try a hard reset of the bios by taking the battery out then if not I'm taking it to a friend's tonight to plug into his monitor via dp

Just hard reset bios, reseated cpu, ram and gpu. Just played starfield using the 3090 through the motherboard hdmi cable....Being used 99% but "core clock" is omitted from msi after burner, it's there for GPU1 (IGPU). Starfield is running great but bios wont boot if card is plugged in via hdmi. This is weird.

Jesus Christ. It goes to show, no matter how good you think you are, how long you've been doing something you can always make a silly mistake.

The HDMI lead that I was using for the GPU had coincidentally died at the same time as doing the upgrade and I hadn't thought to check that because what would the odds of that be?!:D:rolleyes:

Slightly annoying but not as annoying compared to a major hardware failure!

At least you've solved it now.

Thinking of getting that motherboard myself so glad to hear that wasn't the problem.
