Here are some pics of the strongman training Paz kindly organised for us.

FYI - the tyre weighs about 90kg, the Keg is about 45kg - the smaller keg I'm not sure of the weight, and the van is over 2 tonnes - the hill we were pulling is slightly uphill (not much in it really) and it's all rather hard work!

Let's kick off with Jonny shoulder pressing the lighter keg:

Onto mr Semi Pro Waster who did bloody marvellously - even with the lower weight keg he still got 40 reps, only to be beaten by a stirling effort of 42 by Jonny!!! :D

Personally I did a few stretches before and after, but nothing drastic. I'll do some tomorrow when I'm all seized up! :D

It was really really good fun. And definitely up for doing it again :)

Well I started training about 3 years ago, but only started REALLY training for size and strength about 2 years ago since changing job - I used to travel a lot for work and never really had the time to dedicated to training.

I've always been relatively big framed, though I started off at around 82kg, I'm now around 99kg. So over 2.5 stones in that period of time I'm pretty happy with,. It's hard work though!! But it proves the result in terms of actually being able to put it to use. Today's training really has made me want to do more and more!!!
 
To be honest my forearms and legs are all that's sore (oh and my mangled fingers :p).

I stupidly did a leg day on the Friday :/

I'm looking forward to doing this again without a leg day done previously ;)

I definitely want to make this a more regular thing.
 
No not anymore, I'm probably going to play for my schools' "old boys" team as well as I just haven't got the time/commitment to train at a high level (work is ridiculously busy for me).

You're never too old mate! :D
