... Walking through the streets of Manchester. Has it always been as bad as this here?

Lol at the above. I couldn't turn a corner or go down a street last night in Manchester without someone sitting on the floor begging for money. I mistakenly parked a few miles away from the Print works cinema complex and so had to walk the distance back to the car.

Romanian ones everywhere in London. Always seem to be crippled in some way as well but I'm pretty sure they are acting to try for sympathy.

Usually walking down the street with an extreme limp, then they stop, make a loud groaning noise followed by holding a cup towards you

Manchester is quite bad for it. Last time I was there, there was this huge local lad skin headed guy, I swear must have been about 6.6 built like a tank essentially bullying passers by into giving him a pound for a beer. Just stood in middle of pathway in busy shopping center area asking everyone "spare a £1 for a beer" and quite a few people were giving it to him too!

A huge influx of Romanian beggars invaded Stoke a while back but ended up feeling so sorry for the local residents the gave them all their money.

Don't worry, the main thing that counts is that they are no longer taking up houses that private landlords can profit from, or claiming any benefits and thus unemployment has gone down. #ToryEconomicPlan

Yeh it's pretty bad around the main shopping streets. Not stayed in another UK city for a while so can't compare.

Since moving to Manchester 2 years ago it seems to have got worse.

There are a lot of professional beggars, from Romania in particular. They spend a year or two here begging, then go back to Romania and build large houses. Its quite shocking really.

So they come all the way from Romania with associated travel costs, beg and make enough to build a large house back in Romania? Pull the other one as it has bells on it.

I see beggers in glasgow walking around in groups on occasion, with their paymasters as well sometimes.

Kinda funny, i wonder if other people bother to notice this?

The cost of getting a bus from Romania to the UK isn't that much. I agree that the beggers don't get the house themselves but the money they make does go back and make their gang-masters very rich: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/8837955/Child-beggars-make-nearly-100000-for-gangs.html

How naive do you and elmarko have to be to not see this going on under your own noses? Have you asked your daughter in law what she thinks about the Roma?

How am I naive?.

I asked for evidence regarding the below comment.

Particularly when you say this in your own post.

Yes but what you posted was not what Thompson_NCL said. He implied they come here to build themselves a big house back home.

Criminals gonna be criminals from Western to Eastern Europe.

No point asking a Pole what they think of Romanians anyway, same as everybody else in the EU - nobody likes them it seems. :D
