Been trying to come up with a decent logo for my blog but always come up with rubbish like just a lightbulb or something lame like that.

It's for hardlightmedia.net where I post about footie, music, comedy, my own life etc.

At the moment, I'm just using a little image of myself I knocked up quickly.

(Own site. Not hotlinking from another)

EDIT: Hmm, changed the image. :p Sorry latecomer guise.

Any ideas? Need help.

I think you're going to struggle because you have the wrong name for a personal blog.

Hard Light Media to me does not shout personal blog for football/music/life, it is more of a business name.

if you want a personal blog as a website then I would highly recommend changing the name to something which is more personal, use your own name. You can have a more personal look and feel to the website and convey what it is all about :)

It's like calling a car company "Bombshell", it doesn't work and puts across a completely different meaning in the name to waht the company does.

Alright Skip. I couldn't read the text properly. How about a "cinema light" (the outline of one of those large spot light things they use to light people up on stage if you know what I mean) in the corner with an effect lift across the image? Seems to fit with the name :)

Thoughts? :p
Unless you're asking a question about that specific lorry-transportable rubbish receptacle, or that specific prawn-cocktail-flavoured snack, you want a comma after "that" and [a capitalised] "Skip" :p

Incidentally, Skippy fought bareknuckle; he was a hard ******.

Like the idea, though :) Are you looking to go into graphic design in a serious way?

Having a fiddle with themes atm so things may be a bit squiffy. :)

I thought of the spotlight but found it looked more like the logo of a drama school. :(

I would like to, whether I have what it takes is another thing. :(

If you're struggling at this early stage where you should have ideas bouncing off the walls you will find it very very hard in the future.

But its not just ideas, its realising when you should/shouldn't use certain design techniques/colours/concepts with every different project and knowing how to design for the target audience etc

Yeah, I know. :(

I do really enjoy it though, but that's not enough, obviously. :p

What's wrong with calling it "Power of the Numbskulls"?

You're clearly reaching out to young people with this, and it's not taking itself particularly seriously; it could be a slightly quirky take on the fact that everybody, even "numbskulls", now have access to powerful tools to put themselves and their ideas in the public domain.

It's very nicely written though; even quite funny in parts, which is somewhat surprising based on the tosh you post daily on here :D
