Struggling to find a part

Hi guys,

I have a mk1 focus in silver with the black trim like on the outside and black door mouldings etc, I'm just looking to see if I can change all the black plastic parts on the outside to silver so it will match the car, I've looked everywhere but can't find the parts, could someone point me in the right direction please?

These are very difficult to find and you will likely only find them pre-attached to doors, bumpers and so on. You might be able to get pre-primed non-finished ones from somewhere like euro car parts, but I wouldn't bank on it.

You could take them off, rub them down and spray them with a halfords rattle can.

Having tried to source colour matched rub strips for my car before, I find that the breakers are unwilling to separate the rub strips from the bumpers/doors, because typically people will want those parts with the strips attached.

If the Focus has black door moldings surely it'll be the base model? If so is there any point in going to any effort for this on an old base spec car? In fact given there are about a billion focuses out there just buy another with the right trim on the outside!

Id just go online to a breakers mate on ebay or something and ask lots of breakers with silver focus' ! its what I'm doing I'm missing a little piece of trim off my wing mirror to bonnet section

Why not just go get a can of colour match paint and spray all the plastic trim?

Its probably the easiest option and will give you the best results. You can get this from halford or ebay quite easily.

I was thinking you'd not be able to get the parts from Ford apart from as part of the bumper but checking online it seems I'd have been wrong.

Used to be another site which gave more detail of the parts but if they've only got 2 variants of each then they're probably supplied either black/grey or primed ready for painting.
