As the title says, i am struggling to find time to play games anymore.

With some brilliant games that have come out such has MGS5 and fallout 4, i cant keep up and experience playing these properly due to me having such an active life.

Before i could pick up these games at launch and play them fine.

I got MGS5 a few weeks after launch and just played the prelouge and first mission, thats it...

i also got witcher 3 and guess what, i have not even launched the game yet..

And now with Fallout 4 a game i soo badly want to play but cant as i have not even played mgs5 and witcher 3.

Am i the only one here finding less time to chill and play games?

Nope, I think this is just a thing that happens when you get older.

I've got a list of games as long as my arm installed but unfinished (or at least with the story completed). Just don't have the time these days, and when I do, I'd rather relax watching TV or go out.

I think I need to take a six month gaming holiday. :D

Funnily enough I'm in the same situation with the exact same games. Though I've managed to play about 4 hours of The Witcher.

Long gone are the days where I can do a solid 4-8 hours of gaming. Life just gets in the way and even when I have a day where I can play for ages I feel the need to get out and do other things after a while.

It happens to all of us. Now with the winter coming up hopefully I'll get a few extra hours a week though.

Take a small hiatus and return when you have the itch :)

Get everything you need to do done first. You probably titivate for most of the day and this prevents guilt free pleasures.

You probably can't enjoy then because you think it's wasted time, or you should be doing something else. Make sure you've done everything else and that's the problem solved.

I get some heat from the missus due to nightly CS sessions. I remember the good old days when I could hammer out 4 hours easy. Times have changed.

I took the day off to play Fallout 4 and my girlfriend of 5 years was horrified :D

Probably the first time I've taken holiday to play a game since we've been together.

Certainly don't get as much time as when I was single. But that's a minor trade off.

If it's getting to the point it feels like you need to force yourself to game then maybe it's time to quit or take a break for a while.

Gaming 99% of the time isn't very productive, majority do it for fun and if you aren't having that then why bother.

gaming isn't a priority like it used to be , i still game, and enjoy it, but for 1 hour a of a night when i've done everything, that way i feel as though that gaming hour is a treat for doing **** i don't like through the day, a reward.

the only time i can play for 4 hours is on the weekend when i have had 10 pints. BF4 is amazing when your drunk.

I told my girlfriend I was going to book a day off to play GTA V when it came out on PC and the way she looked at me... if looks could kill

I bought a Nintendo 3DS and Pokemon so that allows me to game away from the desk and pretend to be a bit more social. Tempted to give her my old Alienware M14x with the Sims installed if only to shut her up :p

Same here. A few years back I had all the time in the world to play games but now days I cant get more than an hour here and there and games like The Witcher you need a lot more time per sitting to really enjoy and get engrossed in

Part of it is (IMHO) we are spoilt for games now and most of them are so beefy in content you need some serious spare time to finish them. Used to be only one big game out at a time to concentrate on but now we are swamped with AAA titles. Not moaning though!
All this 'errand running' gameplay can get a bit tedious after a while though, I must say.

Exactly the same situation here, just don't have the time these days, I've got lots of games that I've not touched.

Actually I think half the problem these days are people want big sandbox games that take forever to complete, which is fine if you can put minimum 100+ hours into a single game. When I start a game I like to finish it and often get put off starting a game I know I'll not complete, but for some reason I still buy it, lol

These days I much prefer a game that I can finish in <12 hours with a good challenge
or simply has good multiplayer that I can pick up and play when I feel like it.

Tomb Raider is out on Friday, I know I'll finish that quickly but enjoy it.

Wholeheartedly agree. That's one of the reasons I prefer shorter and more focused games. I just don't find the incentive to play through stuff like Witcher 3 or other big rpgs, such games get too repetitive after a while and require too much time/effort (GTA V was an exception, though). Hell, I even find Arhkam Knight's content too overwhelming:p

My working hours are pretty flexible and I still have some time to play but l simply struggle to game for more than 1-2h in a single session and there were times when I went months without launching anything. Plus, I'm currently self-studying for an exam in Japanese and try to devote as much time as I can to that.

To be honest, I started gaming again because I finally got into Steam and found some cheap keys:p Now I've got four games to finish and I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon:p

Same here.

I was looking at buying another SSD for the steam library, but then I realised half the games I'd installed I hadn't even launched so I just uninstalled them and freed up about 50gb. Win.

i have plenty of time to play games, count yourself lucky, you have a life.

That's just it, I don't. It's all work and then too tired to do anything when I get home. Weekends are spent pretty much catching up on sleep, doing chores like cleaning and laundry just in time to go back to work again on Mon morning.

Fudge knows how people manage to have a life and a job :(

As you get older like I am you go to bed at 12am at the most so the old start gaming at 10pm till 4am is gone so you end up with an hour two at most. it is quite depressing.
