Ok, I admit I'm not very knowledgeable about BIOS settings but my board was working fine with a 6600K and when the opportunity came up on the Forum to nab a 7700K I jumped at the chance. With the 7700K my voltages spike up to 1.426V momentarily, which of course spikes the temps and the fans kick in. This normally only lasts a second then everything settles down again.
I checked before I bought the 7700K that the board was running the latest BIOS (very last update) to ensure the 7700K would run. On investigating the spiking I discovered that I should set the voltage to 1.296V or thereabouts on Manual. This is where I'm running into problems. When I set the voltage in the BIOS to manual it does not give me the option to select the voltage in the adjacent box. I've changed the setting to manual and the BIOS shows 1.296V but I cannot alter it. HWMonitor shows the voltage is still spiking.
Have I missed a BIOS setting that would enable me to adjust the voltage manually. I don't want to delve into OC'ing before I get this sorted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
