Hi guys,

Im struggling a bit with my new system build. J haven't build a system for quite a while anddon't want to get things that have been around for ages and are just about to change to something better.

£78 AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz processor specs really well on benchmarks for the price @ http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+Athlon+II+X4+635
£85 Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 AMD 870 confused about 8+2 power designs also I want to use my pc for blu ray playback is this one ok?
£65 Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache in RAID 0 never done a raid before and was told I should also short stroke??!?!?
£19 Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 (Hoping to get my CPU to 3.5Mhz)
£42 Samsung SH-B083L/BSBP 8x BluRay ROM
£130 Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 ( went ATi as gonna get another card in a few months to CF. Good or Bad idea?
£83 OCZ Reaper Low-Latency 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 12800C6 (1600MHz) Dual-Channel (OCZ3RPR1600C6LV4GK) memory is my biggest shortfall I literally have no clue lol

£515 delivered

£530 is my absolute MAX

Will HDD and Blu Ray drive come with Sata cables? and will my 450W PSU be strong enough for all this?

Cheers guys

you need a 890GX/FX chipset for crossfire- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-251-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1782

and Samsung F3 drives need a firmware update to work with *** series chipset motherboards, so try the seagate 7200.12

the motherboard will come with cables, and if you want a second 5770 later on, get a 600w psu- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-031-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1098

What's the make/model of your PSU?

Its an old Coolermaster 450w PSU had it for 2-3years now, I was thinking about the 460gtx also but as concerned about the board having an ATi chipset with and Nvidia GFX card. or is that just out dated thinking?

My effort.

that psu will be ok for a single 5770 or gtx460.

if you went with a single nvidia card then get the fastest you can afford, as sli with a amd chipset won't work.

do try to afford the 1gb GTX460 its significantly better than the 768mb.

I'd go with the phenom II X2 555BE cpu myself. You seem like a gamer and the quad cores aren't used to their fullest in most games.

The mobo will come with sata and a IDE cables. The mobo doesnt have integrated graphics so it's a case of buying a graphics card that is HDCP compliant, I'm sure the 5770 will be. The board supports Xfire and has two 16X PCI-express slots so two 5770 is a possibilty but you will need a PSU powerful enough to run them.

Remember the CPU you have chosen will draw 200 odd watts under load and one 5770 card will probably draw the same under load. If you have a 400 watt supply you will need an upgrade!

Not if you want to go crossfire later on. If you are not, you can keep the mobo, and the PSU. Else both will need upgrading.

Just done a quick wattage check and Im gonna need a new PSU gonna draw about 440 once overclocked. Gonna go with Fozzybears spec with 2 barracuda's in RAID 0 with a new 650W PSU. Cheers for the help guys
