It seems OpenTherm updated their tech in 2021 which mean’s Drayton Wiser kit 1 for combi boilers do not support it. I'm trying to decide which smart thermostat to purchase to obtain the full benefits of Open Therm
Hive doesn’t support OpenTherm
Tado - OpenTherm protocol expects a hot water temperature to be sent from the controller does Tado do this? I know Drayton doesn’tWhich leaves the EU version 3 Tado. Has anyone used them? What’s your view? Do you recommend?
Nest - According to a previous post on here 'it doesn't appear that Nest TRVs can control the boiler ... they only appear to be able to control the flow in each radiator. So, for example, when the living room is warm enough, because it has been heated throughout the day and he wants to heat the bedroom just before hitting the sack, or just before getting up, the Nest TRV can't turn the boiler on by itself.
