Hi, randomly my computer wont boot anymore. I switch it on & it just stays at the bios screen (unfortunaly I cant see whats going on because of the damn manufacturer logo that covers up the bios screen). There are no beeps at all.

Ive tried removing the Gcard, ide & sata cables, ram (when I take out all the ram it does do the long beeps, so im guessing the motherboard isnt screwed?)

What to do next please? Ive almost had enough & might just go an treat myself to a new laptop if I cant get it fixed, but please try & save me the money first :-)

Cheers people

You have reset the bios havent you?
If it gets to the bios screen and goes no further thats a memory or CPU fault usually, they sometimes do it if you are overclocking and have gone wrong.

school boy error, no I havent reset the bios, that should be the jumper near the battery yeah? Im not overclocking this machine.

I would check the manual, it could be anywhere, if you cant find the manual, flip the battery out for a 10 or so seconds and that will reset it anyway.

Its a hardware problem, because something is flaking out when it gets switched on.
Without spare parts to test, its going to be a nightmare tracking it down, resetting the bios should have removed the possibility of that being the problem.
