Stuck between i5 and i7

I am looking at a couple of laptops for office 2013, internet, you tube/iplayer/netflix and storing photos with occasional photo editing (family snaps, nothing grand).

Is there much difference or benefit between i5 -5200U dual core and an i7 5500U dual core?

Thanks

i3 would be fine for that.

Agreed, I have a little i3 (ivybridge) laptop just for mobile deskwork, and it's very good at it. If the OP intends to move around a lot, then a dainty power sipping i3 might be a good move for battery life :)

Answering the original question, I absolutely wouldn't bother with a mobile i7 over an i5. Big chunk of cash for a small chunk of cache. Outside of the quad core i7s, there's no compelling reason to pay that premium.

Of more concern to me would be finding something with more than 4GB of memory - or at least something that can be upgraded later :)
