Honestly can't decide which to get

1. Asus G551JW: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-218-AS&groupid=959&catid=1828

2. MSI GE62/GE72: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-193-MS&groupid=959&catid=1828

Pros for Asus that I've looked at:

4GB more RAM
Blu-Ray

Pros for MSI that I've looked at:

Better screen that covers more of the sRGB range.
Better cooling? Hard to find a UK review of the Asus but the GE72 in the UK says it doesn't hit more than 65c in benchmarking. All the American reviews of the Asus say it's way over 75c.

Like the CLEAR winner looks like MSI but maybe I'm missing something obvious like manufacturer build quality or similar.

Halp! :(

The G551JW is a nice machine. Im using one now as my everyday machine.

I had a GE62 and tbh found it disappointing. It felt cheap and poorly made. It was a capable machine though albeit a bit noisy even when not under load.

I have no idea with the GE72.

Between the two 15" models the G551 is a much nicer machine in my opinion.

That's the kind of info I'm looking for, thanks man.

Any more is highly apppreciated. As you can probably relate to, forking out £1000 for some tech is pretty substantial for me so need to make the right choice.

Acer not come into the equation?
I have already bought and configured 3 and ordered a 4th for myself in work. Now I have went the 17" Aspire Nitro VN7 but the 15.6" version is pretty much the same spec. 4720HQ/960m etc. The Ips screens seem very vivid and colours burst out of the razor sharp screen. The 15.6 model was 800 on another site, one of the top results on google fwiw.

The design just doesn't strike me as anything special on the Acer and the general reviews I've read are sub par compared to the two I've mentioned in the OP. I'd also like atleast a DVD drive which the Acer doesn't have.

Wee spec list. have swapped in my crucial m550 as main drive as its faster and higher capacity than the liteon 128gb included..
edit: havent yet as its an msata drive. will be replacing the 1tb with my 256gb instead.

Oh yeah I see the model you are referring to but it's £977 (best price I found), basically same price as the MSI and Asus.

What are the load temps for you?

Been looking at the Prestige range for sure. Only issue for me is that they don't come with an SSD for Windows. If the OcUK range sports an SSD drive as the boot drive, I'll buy it.
