as after a few posts on what to buy, i have been re-evaluating my options and my funds and now stuck on the cpu as future options for upgrading and what i use the comp for...

now either i go for 3800+ OEM or 165, i want dual because i do a lot of multitasking and will upgrade to the new chips later on the year so going abit cheapy now, now what could i expect from oc'ing a 165 using ASUS Premium board and i dunno a type for 2gig RAM in a CM Stacker 1st model case?? if i could get upto >2.6 then i'd be happy

Opty 165 any day of the week. The extra cache and the dual core is really lovely especially when multitasking. But the fact the 165's clock like a dream also needs to be mentioned. I was a total newbie at a64 clocking and got mine running stable at 2.7ghz per core in no time (and I didnt even push my system). I've since had 2.8 etc but my ram is holding me back on going further, going to upgrade that soon and im sure I can get it 3ghz.

tbh I havent used those asus boards so cant advise on how well they clock though I think I've read they can do 300fsb quite happily.
