Ive created a boot cd in nero... i havnt a clue what to do so i just guessed.

I put on the cd:

awardflash.exe

and the latest asus deluxe bios ROM file on

I can get it to run the awardflash on startup.. but i dont know how to get it to actually flash the bios with the ROM file thats on the cd.

What am i doing wrong? :p

nor me. Biggest advantge is that if the flash goes wrong, you have a chance to download a different bios and reflash before you boot.

as long as your system is stable, you'll be fine:)

haven't you got the asus utility that came with your mobo ? its got a bios flash thingy on it & I used it & its easy

No.

Ive got it flashed to the latest version now.

I didnt realise ASUSupdate actually flashed the bios i assumed it just downloaded the lastest bios... dont know why.

LOL ive spent a few hours now trying to make bootable cd's too.. i feel silly.

Cheers for the help anyways. Case Closed

For future reference, you don't need full bloated Nero to make a bootable CD. All you need is the wnaspi32.dll @ 160KBs (tiny) then follow this.
I have found that works with any flash utility. (any I have tried that is)

It may seem a bit long winded, but just that one file will burn the CD.

Simple. If you have ASUS Update and the Bios file on your PC in a location accessable to windows, run the ASUS Update and from the drop down menu instead of Internet use Update Bios from file. Click next. Up pops a browser window, select your BIOS file and open. You are now in update mode. Click next to flash your Bios with latest Bios file you have downloaded.
I hope this is of some help to you. ;)
