Afternoon Guys and Gals,

I have been researching for a new monitor for a good three days now, I just cannot decide what to go for.

Do I go for curved/uncurved, 32 inch/24 inch, which panel, the works. Any advice?

I'm mainly a RPG gamer - LoL, Final Fantasy XIV, Wow, Elite: Dangerous etc

My current specs:-

Cosmos c700p
Intel i7 8700k
Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 Intel 1151
Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200Mhz
Radeon r7 390x Strix
Samsung SSD 500GB
Seagate Firecuda 2TB

NXZT Kraken Cooler

Thanks in advance :)

For the games you listed I personally would go with a 32" 1440p. I think you'll find that the large screen feels surprisingly immersive :)

- curved, imo, is a gimmick and nothing more. Maybe on ultrawides it has value, but not at 16:9
- I wouldn't bother with 4k unless you're happy to be tied into always buying the top tier GPUs every generation of games/hardware... 1440p @ 32" is also a very comfortable desktop dpi for most people
- I'd suggest avoiding TN (if they even exist at 32") because you're playing colourful games and it would be a waste
- you're probably fine with 60hz for those titles, especially since I think your GPU will nail it to 60 all the time

Tbh, I'd recommend the monitor I have myself: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/hp-o...c-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-009-hp.html

Reasonable colour accuracy, zero BLB, and not very expensive. Minor black crush at the very deep end, but that's kind of a VA thing and you may never notice it. Added bonus of freesync and 75hz while you have an AMD gpu.

Edit: higher fps options are available but they cost twice as much. For your purposes, I think this is a very budget friendly option :)

I should probably add that I'm running an ASUS VG248QE Gaming Monitor -24'' FHD (1920x1080) , 1ms, up to 144Hz, 3D Vision Ready for the last year or so but I just cannot get the colors right with it. It's either to bright or to dark. Looks crap basically.

Always better to think first than just instant buy something which looks fancy on ads.
Anyway three days is nothing.
Ten years ago I kept "researching" various cases for 4-5 months, now I think I'll keep that case still for another decade.

And starting with small generic TN cheapo you don't have any problems compared to what I would have if I had to suddenly get new monitor.
From that even 27" 2560x1440 would be upgrade.

On the back of this has anyone got any advice on a set up? The monitor is beautiful but I don't think I'm getting the most out of it. Advice? :)

I'm also having a problem where I'm getting no signal when using display port but when I use HDMI it's fine?

Personally I think 32" will be too big.
Also curved is fine, at 24" it's pointless but at 27" I'd say it's worth it.

I'd go for 27" 1440p. A step up in PPI what you have now (I think 24" 1080p is a smidge too low, 1200 at same " is a I think noticeable)
