I have £15 to spend on a new PC game.
I have Battlefield 2 which I just bought a month ago and I think it is a awsome game :D

Now the question is, which game to buy...

1) Counter Strike Source which includes Day of Defeat Source

or

2) Battlefield 2 Special Forces Expansion pack

whos played both and think which is better and which would you buy?

Thanks :)

Would probably buy the first choice, as last time I looked there were hardly anyone playing on the special forces servers. So all you would be getting is a few unlocks that you can take back into the normal game.

From what I understand with SF, is that it's just really there for adding more unlocks, and the majority of BF2 players will still be the standard retail BF2, I think.

CS:S has the advantage of being the most popular online FPS still If I'm not mistaken, and Day of Defeat: Source is a pretty good game also. If you're after mainly Counter-Strike, go for trying to get a copy of Half-Life 2, as you'll get more for your money, else go for the CS:S retail pack, or the Source Multiplayer Steam package.

I'd get the first once.

Special forces is fun but it can't match up to the big, wide opened maps imo. Played it round a mates. Suprising though when I played it round my mates I logged in as me - played for 30minutes and now everytime I rank I get a 2 new unlocks (Original + SF Guns) so pretty handy.

Wicked, I'm thinking I will get CSS and DODS now.

Before I buy, I know it has been out since the back end of 2005 I think, are there any plans for a new Counter Strike, which would be worth while saving my £15 and putting that off the new Counter Strike?

Thanks :)

Not until HL3 is released :D

Edit: To the guy above. On another well known games e-tailer there is going to be a new pack released (dont know if steam are doing it) called Half life 2: Holiday collection. It will consist of Half life 2, Half life 2 death match and half life 2 episode 1 which is a better deal imo.

Has there been any announcements to when HL3 is going to be out?

Thanks
No real or official Half-Life 3 announcement have been made really, we still Have Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Episode Three to come out, so nothing until 2008 at the earliest if they do release a sequel.

There wont be a new Counter-Strike for a good while I don't think, especially as we have Team Fortress 2 coming out soon.

If you want solely multiplayer, go for Counter-Strike: Source retail, but if you do want the single player stuff as well, I'd go for getting a Steam package.
