Hey, I just booted into safe mode to remove my graphics drivers so I could update them, I went into mscofig choose safe mode and rebooted. When it start in safe mode I'm confronted by a a message saying This app can't open Get started can't be opened using the built in administrative account. Sign in with another account and try again, I have no mouse or keyboard and all I can do is power down. It isn't crashing as its still loading stuff in the background and it shuts down normally when I hit the power button.

The problem is I'm stuck there now as I can't get into msconfig to disable safe mode. I have just formatted my windows usb stick as I was using it for another program. I there any way I can disable safe mode without a Windows boot stick/disk?
Cheers

Hmm guess ill just download win10 usb on my laptop and just try running repair if nobody else has any idea?

i take it your using windows 10?

when the PC starts have you tried pressing F8 repeatedly until it gives you the boot options and then select start windows normally? should also give you the options for safe mode as well etc

Yeah windows 10, yeah ive tried the f8 thing but it seems to not work anymore. I think it just boots too fast, from post beep to been in windows is only a couple of seconds nowadays. Im gonna try underclocking my CPU and ram now to try and slow it down a bit.

I used to be able to prevent this by powering down then restarting but it doesnt seem to work anymore.

I've just tried windows repair but its not finding that its stuck in safemmode. I cant think of any other options atm other than reinstalling windows.

Yeah slowing it down didnt worth either, i changed my ram and cpu multi to 8 and it booted really slow, but it still just went straight to windows. I get the feeling they have just removed the boot options from start up now in win 10

In the windows setup disk i have got command prompt, im just looking for a command maybe to change it back from safemode to normal boot.

Ok got it, youve gotta boot from win10 usb open command prompt from the advanced options, then find your boot drive, mine had changed from c to F so i just went through them all hitting /dir till i found the right one. go to f:\windows\system32\ and type bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

Found it amongst this guide. http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2304-safe-mode-start-windows-10-a.html#option3

Found the cause of the problem, its basically all my logitec peripherals, my mouse and both my keyboards are both logitec. I thought i would try another mouse just to rules them out and it worked right away, same with keyboard.

Logitec must have released either firmware or software updates that have stopped their peripherals working in safemode i guess.

If your using logitec peripherals keep a spare if your gonna be going into safe mode a bit while overclocking or changing drivers.

the logitech mouse/keyboard are usb wired - yes ? (cannot rely on a bt stack)
I would have thought wired keyboard driver requirements would be very generic so disabling in safemode seems surprising.

Yeah theyre all wired, they all use the same software though which im guessing doesnt load in safemode, but ive never had this problem before so im guessing an update has changed something.

Like you say they normally just worked under generic drivers, and when i plugged in my spare mouse it did exactly that.
